The Master Aid Cutiflex Med Waterproof dressing is designed to provide safe and comfortable protection for wounds requiring waterproof coverage. It is particularly useful in the postoperative period, but can also be used to protect different types of acute wounds, provided it is appropriate to the wound's condition and the healthcare professional's instructions. The dressing consists of an extremely thin, flexible, and elastic transparent polyurethane film that adheres to the skin like a second skin. The film is waterproof and bacteria-proof, while allowing water vapor to pass through. This feature helps protect the wound during bathing, showering, swimming in the sea or pool, maintaining a suitable environment under the dressing. The central area has an absorbent pad with 0.5% chlorhexidine digluconate, designed to provide additional protection to the wound area. The dressing also features a hypoallergenic, solvent-free, latex-free adhesive and rounded corners that promote skin adaptation and comfort during use. The 10.5 x 15 cm format provides adequate coverage for larger wounds, with each dressing individually wrapped and supplied in a pack of 5. The central plug measures approximately 10.2 x 6 cm.
-Clean the wound carefully and disinfect the surrounding area, according to the instructions received. -Make sure the skin around the wound is clean and dry. -Remove the protective film from the dressing. -Position the central tampon over the wound, ensuring adequate coverage. -Apply the dressing gently to the skin, pressing the edges lightly to ensure good adhesion. -Remove the central protective film, following the instructions on the dressing.
Do not use if the individual packaging is open, damaged, or if sterility is compromised. Do not use in case of known hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine or any component of the product. Chlorhexidine may cause hypersensitivity reactions in some people. Although the dressing is waterproof, its use must respect the indications relating to the type and condition of the wound. Do not apply to wounds that require specific medical evaluation or treatment without the guidance of a healthcare professional. Monitor the wound regularly. In case of increased redness, pain, heat, swelling, discharge, foul odor, fever, or other signs suggestive of infection, seek medical advice. Keep out of reach of children and store according to the conditions indicated by the manufacturer.
