Urgostrips are sterile adhesive bandages indicated for closing small superficial wounds, linear cuts, and skin fissures that require approximation of the edges to promote proper healing. They function as a practical alternative to traditional wound closure, helping to reduce tension on the skin and improve the final appearance of the scar. These adhesive strips are made with a non-woven backing and a highly skin-tolerance adhesive, providing good adhesion without compromising skin comfort. The 100mm x 6mm format allows adaptation to different areas of the body, being useful in everyday situations, minor domestic accidents, or support after superficial dermatological procedures. The high tear resistance and good fixation capacity help keep the wound edges approximated during the healing process, promoting better skin repair conditions. Because they are sterile and hypoallergenic, these strips are suitable for sensitive skin and use in first aid settings.
After stopping the bleeding, carefully clean and disinfect the wound and surrounding skin. Dry completely before application. Apply the strips parallel to the wound edges to gently approximate the skin without excessive overlap. Keep the strips in place until they begin to detach naturally or are no longer needed. An additional protective dressing may be used when appropriate.
Do not use on infected, deep wounds, wounds with active bleeding, or wounds with significant exudate. Avoid application to joints subject to intense tension, unless properly indicated.
